Having a background in a variety of design and art expressions, EVELYN GRAY brings color, emotion, and technique to her Spirits of Scattered Bones series. Her characters strike a universal note of human emotions such as spontaneity, joy, and pain. Going beyond the predictable, these works have charm and appeal through the use of clean, sparse lines and narrow palette of color. Her designs baffle the viewer by making him discover the mystery hidden in the familiar. Haunting, expressive themes resonate with the pain and depth of the human soul. Singular, abstract emotion is the focus in these simple designs.
EVELYN GRAY has a varied background in the study of art and design. Having studied with noted artist Marie Hull in her native state of Mississippi, she has developed her strength in visual impressions through the creation of three dimensional art such as jewelry design, handmade abstract paper art, and sculpture.
Her work is featured in corporate collections of BellSouth, New York Life Insurance Company, and US West. Her art is featured in private collections throughout the U.S.
